I am 40 years old and happily married with a daughter. I work full time and have a sometimes stressful, yet fulfilling job. My interests are cooking, writing, travel, music and politics. I am a Republican but more of a Conservative than a party line carrying zombie. I am not a McCainiac, but I don’t want a Rock Star in the office either.
I love Donald Rumsfeld. I can’t help it.
When I was little
- I wanted Tom Jones to be my father and told my real father as much. I still want that.
- I wanted to be one of the back up singers for Tina Turner. I still want that but I cannot sing.
- I was scared of hippies. Now I just don’t like them.
- I was a National Baton Twirling Champion at the ripe age of 8.
- I thought if you touched a clock it would stop running- I always wondered how people ever moved them to dust.
- I told my mom that ‘when I grow up, I want to be a cash register lady like the one at the grocery store’. Scared her shitless for years.
- I attended Catholic School from the 4th to 8th grade- it made me a better person but put me on a perpetual guilt trip I still travel to from time to time.
- I thought it was kind of creepy weird that nuns wore garters. It took me a long time to see why men thought they were sexy. If you are wondering how I know this, a heavy set nun at my school bent over to pick up some chalk once- her heft only added to my confusion.
- I was in parochial school and I hated the uniform. Now I think D would like it. I would like it if it still fit.
- A friend and I put a cat in the dryer. (I am not a serial killer waiting to happen) When the thumping prompted my mom to open the door, he bolted like a bat out of Hades. I thought it rather ungrateful since I was trying to hasten the drying process from his unwanted bath. (Note: It was not our cat)
